Alarm/Monitoring System

Advanced Motion is an alarm/monitoring system suited for homes and small businesses. Up to eight cameras and/or motion detectors can be used. When an alarm is activated, a number of actions can be taken:

• An SMS(text) message can be sent to multiple recipients.
• An e-mail can be sent to multiple addresses.
• An image can be attached to the email.
• Images can be sent as a fax to multiple recipients.
• Images can be uploaded to a web site.
• A voice message can be played through the computer speakers and/or to multiple phone numbers.

At any time, an image can be retrieved by sending a command from a cell phone or by email.

Advanced Motion supports  X10 home automation devices including the FireCracker, CM11A,  Lynx-10 and PowerLinc controllers. X10 motion detectors can be used to trigger alarms and any X10 device can be turned on as a result. The X10 devices can be remotely controlled by e-mail or SMS.

As a monitoring system, Advanced Motion can store images for weeks or months or even years, depending on sample rate and available disk space. A ring buffer is used so that new images overwrites the oldest saved images. The size of the buffer decides how many images are saved. Maximum size of the buffer is 4,294,967,205 images.
